Our Story

After more than 40 years of combined teaching experience, Leah and Lianne began noticing the same pattern year after year. More children were starting school with weaker fine motor skills, shorter attention spans, and less confidence managing the everyday demands of classroom life.

While every child develops at their own pace, we saw a growing gap between the skills children needed for a successful start at school and the opportunities many were getting to practise them.

Ready Steady School was created to bridge that gap.

Drawing on decades of experience teaching Year 1, we designed a programme that targets the exact skills we know make a difference in those first months of school. Combining teacher expertise, occupational therapist-approved activities, and play-based learning, we've created a programme that is purposeful, engaging, and above all, fun.

Every activity has been carefully chosen to build the confidence, independence, and readiness children need to thrive at school.
