Ready Steady School - for Early Childhood Centres
Help your children make a confident transition to school.
Ready Steady School can come to your pre-school, kindergarten or Playcentre and deliver engaging, hands-on sessions that build the foundation skills children will use every day when they start school.
Our sessions are designed by experienced primary teachers and focus on the practical skills that can sometimes be overlooked when preparing children for school - from fine motor development and coordination, to listening, independence, confidence and participating in a group.
We work alongside your existing programme to give children additional opportunities to practise these skills in a fun and supportive environment.
What we work on
Our sessions give children practical opportunities to develop:

Listening and attention – following instructions, staying engaged and participating in group activities

Fine motor skills – pencil control, pencil grip, cutting, manipulating small objects and using classroom tools

Gross motor skills – balance, coordination, body control and movement

Independence – managing belongings, completing tasks and having a go for themselves

Confidence and resilience – persisting with challenges and coping when things don't go to plan

Social and classroom skills – taking turns, communicating, joining a group and following routines

Early literacy and numeracy foundations – developing the skills that support successful classroom learning
